I think many of us have it, that moment when you start a journal, blog or the like and you promise your readers (whether you have them or not) that from now on, you'll be posting new updates regularly. Then, you continue to forget to do this for 20 months or so and feel guilty.
I do this. A lot. That's why I wonder, 'How do they do that?' Those people who are actually very good at blogging. They update every day, and if they miss a post, they make it up first thing the next morning with extra pictures and interesting stories to tell.

So for now, I'll just end this with: 'maybe I'll update, maybe I won't.'

I used to draw a lot when I was in my teens. Not very good, but loved doing it nonetheless. But like many things, if I couldn't get something right the first time, I'd quit. That will not get you very far in life, I can tell you that... It's important to add here that the internet wasn't like it is now and that tutorials were not as easy to get by.

(Gods, that makes me sound Old Granny )

Plus the fact that I was too impatient/insecure/easily distracted/pick one to keep practicing. One thing I wás good at, was copying drawings, but for some reason I always thought that the people that could make beautiful drawings were that good to begin with and didn't have to practice a lot. So I gave up drawing for the most part.

For a while now, I've been back to watching (read: running marathons of) anime and reading manga and while getting entirely addicted to One Piece, I wondered if I could draw the characters. So using deviantart (and pinterest, which is heaven for me Floating) I looked up some tutorials and somehow I got sucked back into drawing.

I realize I do need lots and lots of practice, but it amazed me at how good it felt to do this again and I sincerely hope I can keep myself dedicated, so I can get lots and lots better and start getting some money outta this.... ehh... I mean fun! ;) Because that is one of the things I need to keep reminding myself of when doing something, whether it's making jewelry, drawing or singing (I'm taking lessons, heehee), to just have FUN! I am a dummy!

... to make pictures in. My home is NOT suited for picture taking, especially not since I only use my phone for this. There are a lot of finished pieces of jewelry lying around that haven't been photographed yet, it's a shame, really. I am going to try to set up something like a lightbox, but I normally do not have the patience for such things. But I'll try. Definitely. This will be my NY resolution! (Next to being on time for appointments, but that's a whole other story :3 )

Also, I've been going back to making some altered art. My supplies have been standing in the basement for too long and I needed to do something beside the jewelry making, so that will also be added to my gallery soon. I really think I have made some nice stuff, so stay tuned!

So happy!

First of all, happy new year everyone!
Second, the reason I'm 'so happy', is that I received my commissioned pencil portrait!

Made by Banzchan/Robert DeJesus
I liked his style and the portraits that he made, he actually had the time to make one for me and I -ADORE- it!

Oh yeah, this was the original:

The picture was taken on Bonaire and that vacation holds a special place in my memories,
since we went there for my cousin's wedding and so many friends & family were there as well!
That's why I wanted Robert to make this so badly, so thanks again Robert!
